PRAYING FOR DIRECTION

Life of the Village Foundation has been supporting Bethel Orphanage since June of 2025. We have been sending money for food and basic needs for all the children as well as money to replace a washing machine and to buy paint to paint all the buildings. This orphanage is more than just a place for orphans. It has many other buildings included on the city block in Sonora, Mexico near the border to Arizona, United States. The buildings can house other people and there is also a church building as well. Pastor Victor has been faithfully in communication with us at least once a week to let us know what has been happening there. He has been going a few times a week to teach the children Bible and English lessons. He has also been very faithfully painting buildings one by one. He is communicating with Mama Bertha about vision for the place. Mama Bertha is getting tired after many years of service to the children. Her parents started this orphanage before her, and she grew up apart of it all. She asked Pastor Victor if Francisco (President of Life of the Village Foundation) would be interested in buying or renting the orphanage and if we were interested in running the place. She wanted to be sure we would continue the care of the children which is definitely our main heart since we started. Many people and groups of people have stopped there over the years to be refreshed. Both Francisco and Pastor Victor have it on their hearts that people coming would be bringing increase financially and help to the children. Mama Bertha has also asked if Pastor Victor would be willing to run the church in the building there. This is all a huge responsibility that neither of us take lightly. We want to be led by the Lord in these decisions because where He leads, all will be blessed and provided for. There is potential for so many more children to be cared for in that place. Please join us in prayer for direction. It looks like we will be making a trip in the near future to visit with Mama Bertha, Pastor Victor, and the children. I am sure we will know our next steps soon!
